TrustID Personal Digital Certificate

Obtaining a TrustID Personal digital certificate is a simple 3-Step process

Step 1 - Application
Once you begin the online application process, you will need to provide the following personal information and then provide payment for the digital certificate:
  1. Name
  2. E-mail address
  3. Home address
  4. Phone number
  5. Social Security Number (SSN)
  6. Date of Birth (DOB)
  7. Driver's License Number or State ID

IMPORTANT: During the application process, you will be required to create a Passphrase. This Passphrase will be needed to retrieve your certificate once it is approved. Please remember or store your Passphrase in a secure place, as it cannot be retrieved once you have submitted it. It is stored in an unreadable format, so support personnel have no access to the original text you submit.

Payment
Payment methods: Credit Card or Voucher Number

NOTE: To pay by Voucher Number, you must submit your Purchase Order prior to certificate application. See instructions for more information.

Step 2 - Authentication
Processing of your application is carried out by an IdenTrust Registration Agent. This process consists of validating the information provided in Step 1 against independent data sources. Once the application is approved, usually within 1 business day, a Welcome Letter is mailed to the address provided. Please allow up to 5 days for the Welcome Letter to arrive in the mail.

Step 3 - Retrieval
Once the Welcome Letter is received in the mail, follow the instructions to retrieve your TrustID Personal Certificate.

TrustID Business Certificate

Obtaining a TrustID Business Certificate is a simple 4-Step process:

Step 1 - Application
Once you begin the online application process, you will need to provide the following personal information and then provide payment for the digital certificate:
  1. Name
  2. Job Title
  3. E-mail address
  4. Organization/Company Name
  5. State of Incorporation
  6. DUNS Number, if available
  7. Entity Type
  8. Organization/Company Business Address
  9. Organization/Company Phone Number

IMPORTANT: During the application process, you will be required to create a Passphrase. This Passphrase will be needed to retrieve your certificate once it is approved. Please remember or store your Passphrase in a secure place, as it cannot be retrieved once you have submitted it. It is stored in an unreadable format, so support personnel have no access to the original text you submit.

NOTE: To pay by Order Number or Voucher Number, you must submit your Purchase Order prior to certificate application. See instructions for more information.

Step 2 - In-Person Identification
During the application process, you will need to download the Authorization Agreement ID Form and then follow these instructions:
1. Complete the Authorization Agreement ID Form
2. Notarize the document
3. Submit the document per the instructions

Step 3 - Authentication
Processing of your application is carried out by an IdenTrust Registration Agent. This process consists of validating the information provided against independent data sources and sources within your company. Once the application is approved, usually within three business days, a Welcome Letter is mailed to the address provided. Please allow up to 5 days for the Welcome Letter to arrive in the mail.

Step 4 - Retrieval
Once the Welcome Letter is received in the mail, follow the instructions to retrieve your TrustID Business Certificate.

TrustID Server Certificate

Obtaining an TrustID Server Certificate is a simple 3-Step process:

Step 1 - Application
Once you begin the online application process, you will need to provide the following information and then provide payment for the digital certificate:
  1. Name
  2. Job Title
  3. E-mail address
  4. Business Phone Number
  5. Organization Name
  6. Organization Business Address
  7. Organization Phone Number
  8. State of Incorporation
  9. Headquarters Country
  10. Headquarters Postal Code
  11. DUNS Number, if available
  12. Entity Type
  13. Registered server name: Your organization must be the registered owner of the server name you wish to secure with your TrustID server certificate. You can confirm this by performing a Whois search at www.internic.net/whois.html
Example: If clients connect to your site over the URL https://www.trustdst.com/certificates/information.html, you would enter www.trustdst.com (server name only). Otherwise, your clients may see a warning message that the name on the certificate does not match that of the web server.
  14. Certificate Signing Request (CSR): You must generate and submit a CSR. Follow the instructions provided with your server software to generate a certificate signing request (CSR). We support servers using standard X.509 v3-based certificates and PKCS#10 format requests. Required Key Bit Length: 1024
