This section contains instructions on how you can import certificates from various web browsers.

Internet Explorer 5 - Complete the following steps to import a certificate to Internet Explorer 5:

Open Internet Explorer 5. |

Select Tools-->Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box appears. |
| |

Click the Content tab. |
| |

Click the Certificates button. The Certificate Manager dialog box appears. |

Click the Personal tab to list your certificates. |
| |

Select the certificate to export. |

Follow the instructions to complete the wizard. Select these options in the following screens:

| Select File to Import |
In the File name field, enter the path and filename for the certificate you want to import. |
| Password Protection for Private Keys |
Enter a password to use for the certificate. Check the "Enable strong private key protection" and "Mark the private key as exportable" check boxes. |
| Select a Certificate Store |
Select the "Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate" option. |
|
After you have completed the wizard, the Private Key Container dialog box appears. As the default, the security level is set to Medium.
|
If desired, Click Set Security Level to change the security level to High or Low. If you choose to set the security level to High, the Private Key Container dialog box appears.

Select the "Create a new password for this item" option. |

In the Password for field, enter a name for the certificate you are importing. |

In the Password field, enter a new password for the certificate. Enter the password again in the Confirm field. |

Click Finish. |

A message appears that says, "The import was successful", then Click OK. You have completed the import process.

Outlook 2000 - Complete the following steps to import a certificate using Outlook 2000:

Open Outlook 2000. |

Select Tools-->Options. The Options dialog box appears. |

Click the Security tab. |
| |

Click the Import/Export Digital ID button. The Import/Export Security Information and Digital ID dialog box appears. |

Select the Import Existing Exchange or S/MIME Security Information option button.

In the Import File field, enter the path and filename for the file to import, or Click Browse to browse to the file. |
| |

In the Password field, enter the password for the certificate. |
| |

In the Keyset field, enter any name for the keyset.
The keyset is the name Outlook uses when referring to the digital ID. It is usually your mailbox name. |

Click OK. The Import/Export Security Information and Digital ID dialog box closes and the Options dialog box becomes active. You have completed the import process. |

Outlook Express - Complete the following steps to import a certificate using Outlook Express:

Select Tools-->Options. The Options dialog box appears. |

Click the Security tab. |

Click the Digital IDs button. The Certificate Manager dialog box appears. |

Click the Personal tab to list your certificates. |

Select the certificate to import. |

Click the Import button. The Certificate Manager Import Wizard appears. |

Follow the instructions to complete the wizard. Select these options in the following screens:

Netscape Communicator- Complete the following steps to import a certificate in Netscape Communicator:

Open Netscape Communicator. |

Click the Security button on the Navigation Toolbar.
The Security Info screen appears.

Under the Certificates hyperlink, Click Yours. This displays all your certificates.

Click the Import a Certificate button. If you have set up a password for Netscape Communicator, the Password Entry dialog box appears. |

Enter the password for Netscape Communicator, then Click OK. The File Name to Import dialog box appears. |

Browse to the location of the certificate to import. |
| |

Select the certificate, then Click Open. If the certificate is password protected, the Password Entry dialog box appears. |

Enter the password for the certificate, then Click OK. The certificate is imported into Netscape.
To confirm that it has been imported, locate the name of the certificate in the Your Certificates window. |

Eudora Pro - Complete the following steps to use WorldSecure Client 3.0 to import a certificate for use with Eudora Pro 4.1:

Select Special--Message Plugins Settings. The Installed Message Plugins dialog box appears. |

Select WorldSecure Client, then Click the Settings button. The S/MIME Configuration - Current User dialog box appears.

Click the Certificate Manager button. The Certificate Manager dialog box appears. |

Click the Import button. The Import Private Key File dialog box appears. |

Browse to the certificate and select it, then Click Open. The import process is now complete. |

Outlook 2000 - Complete the following steps to import a certificate for a contact in your address book in Outlook 2000. You must have received a digitally signed or encrypted e-mail message from the person to use this procedure.

Open Outlook 2000. |

Open a digitally signed or encrypted e-mail message from the person that you wish to add to your list of contacts. |

Right-Click on the name in the From field.

In the menu that appears, select Add to Contacts. The Contact window appears. |
| |

To verify that the certificate is present, Click the Certificates tab. The certificate is listed in the Certificates box, along with any other certificates you have for this contact.

Click Save and Close to save the contact information. You have completed the import process. |
